The Edge Report (Handicapping Aid)
I developed a Los Alamitos spreadsheet a couple of years back that shows average final 8th times compared to winning times for straight away races at 300, 330, 350 and 400 yards. It is completely data driven as I compared a couple of years worth of winning times at all the distances and then averaged the final 8ths for those times. From that information I was able to come up with what I thought were pretty accurate final 8th averages for winning times at the distances needed.
Here is a snip of what a portion of the 300 yard section looks like.
I like to look at this data when handicapping a race to see if a runner was moving faster of slower than the average when they won. That may help determine how they will do stretching out. I also can see if runners in others placings were gaining or not in the final 8th and gauge how fast they might have been going. It’s just an added tool that goes inside the numbers to give more information than what can be gained from the racing form alone.
I was thinking in this past week it may be useful to some subscribers of The Edge Report. Something that you may find helpful to your handicapping process. If it is and you would like to purchase it I thought $20 was a reasonable price. It would come as an excel spreadsheet that I could attach to an email sent to you. My goal is for subscribers to be successful so if you think it might help you I’d like to make it available.
I have other products I may offer in the future such as comp. times (I take 300 yard winning times and translate them to 330, 350 and 400 yards), average winning times by class and age (I have these for every distance by class and age level, even 4.5 furlong and 1000 yard races). For now I thought I’d offer this product to gauge interest.
Just send $20 via Paypal (drobinson1969@gmail.com) or venmo (@Darren-Robinson-31) along with the email address you would like it sent to.
thanks,
Darren
