DQs gave and took away last Sunday night. In the first Malakai Moxie was taken down after winning easily and giving the Report the cold exacta with a 9/1 shot underneath. Turns out I would have missed the early pick 4 though as I did not use Around the dial in the finally. In the 9th longshot Supreme was disqualified from from his win giving 5/1 Jumpn Over the Moon the victory. I had used that one on a back up ticket when Tempting Fly scratched and ended up hitting the late pick 4 for a decent $178. I had Docs Best Women singled on all pick 4 and pick 3 tickets so that horse was the key for me on the night.
Tonight’s card could produce some upset winners. I’m looking for both pick 4s and rolling pick 3s to all pay well.
Race 1 - 1000 Yards Mdn 19.5k MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD
6 Ring General (3/1) has shown speed both times when racing on dirt, once here in the daytime and once at Del Mar. He gets a better post then 9 Westcoast Gangster (5/2) so I will give him the edge. I think he can be close to the early pace and have more left late after exiting the longer races. Westcoast Gangster is adding Lasix while making his second start after a year + layoff. If he can get the trip he will be tough. 7 Makara (7/2) cleared fillies in her debut when facing $30k maiden claimers. She is the lone speed threat based off that effort. 3 Norwester (20/1) has the best shot in the field of getting into the exotics at a big price. Maybe he passes some tiring horses late and hits the board.
