Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The 2024 racing season kicks off tonight at Los Alamitos. It was a good 2023 season for me personally as I hope it was for each and every subscriber. One of the highlights was hitting the pick 6 with an Edge Report Bet Share ticket. Maybe we can to do it again a few more times this year. If the opportunity presents itself I will put it out there. Tonight’s 9 race card is highlighted by the Holiday Handicap. Here is how I see it.
Race 1 - 1000 Yards Mdn 18k FILLIES, MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UP
4 Chevy Girl (2/1) dropped back after the start in her first try over the nighttime surface before rushing up into contention going into the turn only to be blocked. She made another move at the top of the stretch only to be blocked again before swinging out wide and just missing by a nose. It’s hard to imagine her getting that rough of a trip again. 7 Dads Wish (4/1) went right to the lead off a year layoff when facing Chevy Girl last out. She ran out of gas early but probably needed that race and adds Lasix for this start. 2 Super Annie (4/1) has been competitive at this level in her last 4 tries, finishing 3rd in three of those starts. 9 No Can Quit (10/1) is a longshot that is lightly raced and has good early speed. Whether she can carry it through to the wire is the question as she stopped running early going longer when facing much better last out. 10 California Diva (5/1) is compromised by the outside draw and would be a top three pick if not breaking from post 10.
