I’m off for the summer, but not really. I decided to teach summer school for the first time in 20 years. So far it has been an easy gig so I am not regretting that choice. Working 7:30 to 12:30 for my hourly wage is not too bad and it will give us some extra spending money when we take the grand kids on a cruise in late July. Glad I booked our flights already as the cost on those things has gone way up. Looking ahead I’ll be taking the weekend of July 30 and 31 off.
Here is tonight’s report.
Race 1 - 2½ Furlongs Clm 5000 THREE YEAR OLDS AND UP
4 Polar (3/1) has been facing some tough allowance company going 1000 yards in his most recent starts and shown the speed to contend early on the front end. Dropping back in distance and class should be a perfect fit. 2 Asian Rain (5/2) will be hard to beat if he can duplicate the opening quarter of 22.19 seconds he ran last out. He is fast early but usually not quite that fast. 6 Rosat (8/1) is always quick early when going longer. He has a win and a nice 3rd in three tries at this level and distance. 5 Chief Eagle Eye (7/2) has ran quick opening quarters in his last two races when going longer. He tried this distance once before but broke very slow before making up a lot of ground late.
